PT - Trabalho académico de identidade Urbana. Para esta proposta escolhi revitalizar o logótipo da cidade da Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal. Ainda no tema de identidade o resultado final é um livro conceito que ilustra o desenho deste novo logótipo com a personalidade da cidade. Todas as imagens usadas foram geradas pela aplicação de processing, convertendo fotografias de depósito público em padrões de ponto cruz e siglas, seguindo a mesma estética da tão aclamada camisola poveira.
ENG - Academic project on Urban Identity. For this proposal, I chose to revitalize the logo of the city of Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal. Staying within the theme of identity, the final outcome is a concept book that illustrates the design of this new logo along with the city's personality. All the images used were generated through the application of processing, converting publicly available photos into cross-stitch patterns and symbols (“sigla poveira”), following the same aesthetic as the highly acclaimed Póvoa sweater.
With the city's old traditions forgotten and the number of fishermen dwindling, there is still a deep-rooted pride in being "Poveiro". The love of the sea and all its stories.
